Initial Responses
We asked young people how learning about their heritage would impact them.
The Enter Centre
Young people were given a number of resources and asked to pick out some of the areas they would like to focus on.
The Spennymoor Settlement
It was a great honour to visit The Spennymoor Settlement where it all began. To see the original documents, posters, flyers, programmes and even the rat run and lighting board was a priviledge. Malcolm, the current Warden was a mine
of informaiton and experience. What a great asset to local heritage he is!
Durham University Library
A small group visited the Durham University Library. We had a great deal of content to get through and managed to review it once we had got back to the Enter Centre.
Northumbria University
Much of the research done here was related to the life and times of Sid Chaplin.
Beamish Museum
We had some great educational visits to Beamish Museum. The workshops and learning expeditions were very helpful when gaining the right content for our Living Exhibitions.
