A Once in a Lifetime Opportunity

Participating in the When Yesterday Was Young project was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The trips to Wakefield and to Beamish were great fun and also very opening to the things the miners experienced in their times. I feel like this project has brought me closer to my Great Uncle Norman Cornish and allowed me to express my thoughts through poem. This experience has been a great opportunity, something I believe you will not get anywhere else.

When I first saw the set, I was astounded by the sheer scale of it. I could see the amount of time and dedication that had been put into the build.

The Wakefield trip was a great part to the project. I loved going down the mine and feeling what it had been like right in front of my eyes. I know it had been adapted to be a museum but the feeling was still there. It was absolutely amazing.

When we put all the research together and performed the When Yesterday Was Young production, it brought an amazing conclusion to one of the most fantastic projects that I have participated in.
